Linmark
This is the homepage for the Linmark project. There is not much
here, but there are big plans for the future. Linmark is a program
for Linux, and probably other similar operating systems, that aims to provide
a standardized way of comparing performance. It has a plugin system,
which allows new tests to be written and run within the same program. There
are also plans to create an API to allow other front ends for the Linmark
system to be developed, such as a GNOME or KDE one with functionality to
compare against other scores.
For more information see this project's Sourceforge Page. The
latest version can be downloaded from there. Before long there should
be a way to publish your scores here, and to see how your computer performs
against others. You are welcome and encouraged to create new test modules,
but please tell me about them so I can link to them here. Hopefully
before long there will be a guide here for how to create your own modules.
For those interested, my computer is a 650Mhz Coppermine Pentium III, with
192MB ram. It scores 688 on Interger Math, 680 on Floating Point, and
123 for Memory, using Linmark 0.2 with Core module 0.1.
